hey guys, new to the forum!

basically im goin to uni starting late sept and need 2 get a decent laptop able to play pretty tough graphic games lyk oblivion and bioshock etc. I have a budget of £700-800.

So basically I have 3 options:

1) The really cheap and really good specification of the Zoostorm 4-6623 from PCnextday.co.uk

thing is its the brand name that putting me off....I had never heard of Zoostorm until yesterday :S

2) DELL quote for a Inspirion 1520 at £800, specs are : intel core 2 duo 2.2ghz, 120gb HD, 2Gb RAM, 15.4' with true life, nvidia 8600GT 256mb dedicated gfx card and loadsa free accessories and 1 yr accidental and hardware warranty

thing is with that, its over the phone and I doubt its gona stick at that price, perhaps another £100 if they're being stingy and the delivery time...(though as long as its before mid-Oct il be happy)

3) Custom built a laptop from pcspecialist.co.uk......similar specs to the other 2 but again random make and even more pricey......

Help please guys. If there is any other sweeet options then please feel free to post. Cheers =D

Zoostorm have been about for some time.

I've got severe doubts that you will get a laptop at that price to play those games well. I have a quick look at Bioshock for example and the laptops you are looking at meet the MINIMUM specs.

Laptops are not really great for games and for £800 I don't think you will get a laptop to run it well. It may well run them but I would think you have to drop all the settings. The problem with them all is the graphics. I could be wrong but I think you're hoping for too much.

I'm ready to be corrected by anyone that knows better.

i agree i think you will have to spend more if you want to play games at high specs but you will be able to play most games including CS 1.6

hmm yeh, tho too high specs costs alott of money...overa grands worth im sure. but games lyk AOE and CS shud be ok with the zoostorm and dell specs i fink...its which one 2 get which is the issue...
