Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 review
Further to an earlier post I'm still looking for a sub £500 desktop + monitor. I need it for internet, music, general home (WP,Spreadsheet) use + editing and storing digital pics. Not capable of building my own.
Any comments on my shortlist would be appreciated:
i) ACER T180DC
My local Comet is doing this + a 17" Acer monitor for £399.00
ii)I've just been to the Dell site and have got a price of £487.62 for a Dimension C 521 with the following specs:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4200+ Processor
Windows XP Home Edition OS
XP Home to Vista Upgrade
1 year collect and return support
19" Value Flat Panel Monitor
1024MB DDR2 533MHz Memory
80GB(7200rpm) SATA Hard Drive
48xCDRW/DVD Combo Drive
Integrated nVidea GeForce 6150 LE graphics
Keyboard + Mouse
The price is supposedly £70 off + free delivery.
iii) Aria AXL Fusion Home 3200 @£399
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ processor, 1GB RAM, 200GB hard disk, integrated 128MB shared Nvidia GeForce 6100 graphics, DVD+/-RW +/-DL, 19" widescreen LCD
· AMD Athlon 64 3200+ AM2
· 18X DVDRW
· 2x PC2-5400 Elixir DDR2 SDRAM
· 200GB HDD SATA 2
· Arianet MIDI Tower3 Blk/Sil ATX2.0
· MSI K9VGM-V Socket AM2
· Microsoft Wireless Optical 1000
· On-Board Graphics
· Microsoft Wireless Mouse
· OnBoard Sound
· 19' TFT Monitor
· Microsoft XP Home OEM + Vista
(FWIW Computer Shopper's verdict on this was: Aria's Fusion Home 3200 is great value for money. It's a generously specified computer with plenty of upgrade options.)
Which should I go for?
I'd go for the Dell, but be aware that the C denotes a compact case so if you were hoping to be able to put in a graphics card later to play games, you'll probably be disappointed.
If you think you will want to muck about with the contents of the case in future, I'd go for the Aria, but find out if it's a decent monitor
