Which AMD quad processor for £80?

I'm looking to build a new pc with an AMD quad core processor. At the moment I'm considering the X4 630 quad. But there's others at a similiar price such as the x4 9850. Its quite confusing because they're similiarly priced but with differing cpu speeds, L2/L3 cache etc. What is the best CPU I can get for £80?

Not quite the same comparison click here but in the remarks further down it seems that most gamers prefer the x4 630 because it runs cooler, has a smaller die size so is more recent and is faster. It also uses the latest AM3 socket rather than AM2+

I have looked at other comparisons and would confirm what I said in my earlier post. The X4 630 is better value, it is a much newer chip and runs far cooler.

Thanks chub_tor, I will go ahead with buying the x4 630. The only thing that was holding me back was that the 630 does not have L3 cache but I'm only spending £80 and can't expect to have a top end cpu.

click here should be the last page of a very long comparison on processors with and without L3 cache. What I take from it is that the extra power required negates any performance increase.

Thanks for that, very useful.
