Am being offered 2 printers. One is Epson Stylus Photo R300, the other is Epson Stylus Photo RX425 (Scanner + Printer). Only just getting into photos but, as my scanner now packed up and used more, now need a new scanner. Question: Do I keep the R300 and buy a scanner, or do I reject that and go for the RX425.
As far as I can see they both have the same print output resolution which should equate to similar photo output, the RX425 however uses less colours than the the r300 which generally means that it won't print photos as bright or contrasted as the r300. The R300 also uses 6 cartridges which should in theory mean a reduction in overall printing costs. The scanner resolution for the RX425 isn't that hot, most modern scanners available now can scan at much higher resolutions than the RX425 provides, whether that proves useful or not for a home user is debateful.
Many tks De Marcus.....that is the sort of thing I was after (being the original el thicko). Will wait to see if I get any other input, but feel I shall go for the 300 and get a new scanner. Once again, tks to all for the time and tble of responding. D
