I know there are loads of places to buy the above, but can anyone recommend a reliable supplier please.

Got mine from Amazon (£73). Arrived within 36 hrs.

I know I probably could have saved £5 or 10 by searching. But is it worth the worry with unkown suppliers?.

It did not come with any instructions but there is plenty if you Google or see you manufacturer's website for a Service or Maintenance Manual pdf

You need to be fairly practical and know things like static precautions. It's not too difficult but you need to be careful and methodical.
I am an electronic engineer so it was all OK'ish.
I still managed to make some minor mistakes. Refitted the hinges incorrectly so the lid closes and leaves a gap.
Didn't reseat keyboard properly so that has a small gap on one side.
And I had a surplus screw left over after finishing.
It all worked though.

Search lcd replacement screen and your model.

Mine could either be CFL or LED backlight so I had to check before ordering.

Some laptops are dead easy (just a couple of screws to separate the display case or (like my Compaq CQ61), take the whole damn machine apart nearly.

Good Luck.
