I have £400 to spend on a new monitor. What should I buy, LCD or CRT ? I know CRT are big & heavy but I have plenty of room and also have better picture quality ? Whereas LCD are smaller, lighter and most probably in the next few years going overtake CRT as the most popular monitor. Your comments & recomendations please.

I have recently replaced my monitor from a 17" crt to a 17" tft.after a lot of searching I bought a LG 1710B .Beautiful display a fast response time (16 m/s)dvi input and a smashing monitor to look at, even when it's switched off !!

All depends what you are going to be using it for.
If you have high end graphics card for gaming and use high resolution 1600x1200 etc a crt is for you.
