Virgin ISP

Sadly the service we are currently getting from Virgin Media is very poor.
We loose the internet connection daily after 3pm & can not get a connection again until 7am!
What do we need to do etc to move to a different ISP?
Someone mentioned needing a MAC code to migrate to another ISP?

Why does it take so long, up to 5 days to get a MAC Code sent?

It's all gone OK.
We have the MAC Code & have given it to Sky.
The service however with Virgin has nosed dive to nearly 56k dial up speed in the evenings!!
