Using Canon Pixma IP4300 with Vista?

I'm debating whether to buy a Canon Pixma IP4300 but cannot discover if it will work with Vista (on next PC; am currently using XP). I've heard that many peripherals won't, and that upgrades of drivers are not available. True or false??

Also, will my husband's HP PSC1610 work with Vista?

I have a slightly older Canon printer and all of the vista drivers worked perfectly when I updated from XP.

Many thanks for help with the Canon ... now can I be greedy and ask the same question regarding husband's MFD, HP PSC1610?

Mind you I tried Vista and my aging Epson 680 was supported but the Status Monitor which tracks the use of ink was not, with the result that although the printer worked fine I had no idea how much/little ink remained. My newer Epson worked fine.
