Upgrade advice sought

I'm currently running a Core 2 E6600 with 4 Gb DDR2 800Mhz on a Vista 64 system. I've aslo got an ATi 4870 512Mb graphics card in there. Had this system for 2 years now (except the card) and it's time for an upgrade.

The choices;

Processor - Either the Duo E8600 or the Quad Q9550. similar vantage marks, which is fastest for games etc ?

Ram - Pc8500 of some description, The mobo manual says 4 x 1.8v slots but all the modern ram is 2.1v or so. Can i use all the slots at 2.1v or am i limited to the total voltage it can handle ?

graphics - either the new 4890 1Gb or Nvidia's 285.

I use the system mostly for games, sometimes watching telly, playing poker and surfing internet simultaneously.

I'm looking for opinions and suggestions to give my system a good overhaul which will last for another couple of years.

All opinions appreciated

e8600 or if you want quad q9650. keep the ram as you will not notice any difference changing, 4890 not much faster than a 4870 so wait till xmas and get a next gen ati dx11 card as they are due out before the years end.
