My wife is being plagued by a caller on her mobile phone. We have traced the uk code to :-

We have the following localities matching 01279

1. The location for 01279 is Albury (Herts.)
2. The location for 01279 is Bishops Stortford
3. The location for 01279 is Brent Pelham
4. The location for 01279 is Harlow
5. The location for 01279 is Hatfield Broad Oak
6. The location for 01279 is Much Hadham
7. The location for 01279 is Roydon (Essex)
8. The location for 01279 is Sheering
9. The location for 01279 is Stansted Airport
10. The location for 01279 is White Roding

However, we find it impossible to trace the remainder to see who it is. Also we refuse to pay BT or any of the other number tracers to find out who it is. Also she doesn't want to phone them up which lets them know they've got a legitimate number. So, any suggestions for a number tracing site that is free?

Is there any way of blocking callers on a Nokia 6300, we can't find one!

North Essex/Herts.

If you have the full number why not use a phone box and see who answers.

Or use the 141 prefix from a landline, using it means the dialed number can't tell who the call is coming from, for example:

141 01279 **** ****

Report the number to the nuisance call team of your network provider ...alB

Just phone them, they obviously have an incorrect number. There is no point in making a mountain out of this.

Thanks for the advice have done as suggested about 141 (for ease because I don't know where there is a call box locally!). Also done as alb suggested.

My phone has a caller reject list. If he phone isn't an old one it should have this too.

Pop the number in the search box on this site & see if it's already been reported

I also find that simply entering a phone number in google, with & without spaces, often pays dividends. That's how I found the who calls me website...

Type the number into google. This has worked for me a couple of times
