Tough laptop choice, advise?

So I recently repaired a friends 13" macbook pro (mid 2012, i5, HD 4000, 4G RAM) which he gave to me for free! Awesome!

I'm not a huge fan of apple products so im currently tempted to sell it for £350-450 on ebay.

My mate is also selling a laptop 11" i3 3110m, 4G RAM, 720p screen, Nvidia 650m. Which blows the mac out of the water for games but battery life does suffer as does the processor but its only going to cost me £250. However the hinge on the screen is a bit dodgey - fine and works just wonky.

The plan for the laptop is films on the travels and games when i'm abroad (going away for two years). The Mac is better for films and built quality and is in better condition, I will also be able to sell it easily in a few years.

So should I keep the mac, buy my mates laptop or maybe just buy a completely new laptop?

Any other good laptops for around £350-450?

You are safer travelling with an old, beaten up, Lappy than a new one. It's much less likely to be stolen.

I'd stick with the Mac.
