i no already that the speedo on cars arent 100% accurate but was wondering how accurate the tomtom speed is there is a difference of between 3/4 mph

cars are allowed 11% out before they become illeagle. thats why the speed camera cannot go lower than ten per cent over the limit.
my tomtom is 3/4 % out too.

Sat Navs should be accurate all the time as the accuracy of the GPS is very fine.

However, there is often a lag in accuracy if your speed is changing as the software needs 3-4 seconds to recalculate - hence, at times, you may feel that you have lost accuracy.

If your speed is dead constant, your GPS spped reading should be dead accurate.

Hi, you also need to be on level terrain as going up or downhill will affect the readings from SatNav. regards, yaesu
