Throwing money down the drain? NEED HELP

Hello PC experts.

I have signed up to pcadvisor 2 min's before typing out this question because I am SO stuck for ideas, that I need the help of some experienced guys to allow me to understand what I'm looking for in a pc, and ultimately help me choose WHICH pc to purchase...

I live in the UK

Budget: £750 ($1182.75)

What do I need it for? I need it to be better than new gen consoles, by this I mean I am selling my consoles (360 and PS3) to help fund this PC which I have been meaning to buy for some time, I need it to be able to run the newest games on the best settings. (Ambitious?) The reason for this, is because I also need this PC to have great video editing capabilities. (As I studied Graphics design and related areas at College)

It's a big ask for this budget, I'm not expecting THE best, but I'm hoping you guys can point me in the right direction! I would also like to find out about buying strategies, example, people argue that buying of Ebay is bad, does this count for Amazon also?

I have 2 PC's, on via PCspecialist and another via Amazon, I prefer the look of the amazon one from my Tech knowledge as I see I'm getting a lot more for the same price... So please geniuses of the world.. Help me.

At the top of this page click on the reviews tab then PCs, there are plenty of recommendations here.

You should look at machines by a gaming specialist such as Chillblast,
