ThinkPad or Latitude

Need help!... Which should I go for? I know both are rather "old" models, but they are what I can afford:-)... Both are new laptops. Price - exactly the same ("knock-down" price), screen size is "irrelevant".

Thinkpad T430: CORE I5 With IVY BRIDGE TECHNOLOGY 3rd Generation Series 2.6GHZ Turbo Boost upto 3.9GHZ 4GB RAM 500 GB HARD DRIVE 2GB DEDICATED NVS5400M NVIDIA GRAPHICS CARD

Latitude E6230: Intel Core i7-3540M Processor(3.0GHz,4M cache) Genuine Windows 7 Professional 32bit 500GB7200rpm Hard Drive 4GB(2x2GB) 1600MHz DDR3L Memory Intel HD Graphics 4000

Please help...

Thinkpad is more durable. I buy second hand ones for my kids and my one daughter at uni - no problems good recovery options

Depending on price I have got a colleague an Asus T100t click here you need microsoft office (without outlook) very nice - would suggest looking at one in person to see if it suits your needs.

Mind you all my daughters use Libre office quite happily so I only use Microsoft for office work when required for compatibilty.

The Latitude has the better processor but perhaps over the top. But it appears to have a faster hard drive so may be overall quicker. Toshiba's are fairly reliable.

My choice would definitely be the ThinkPad.

Having looked at the specs again I see that the ThinkPad has dedicated graphics. I too would go for the ThinkPad.
