TFT: Do I need DVI or will Analogue do? £50 xtra

I'm about buy a 19" TFT. Decided on either the Samsung SyncMaster 930BF (£248.99) or the Samsung SyncMaster 913N (£194.80). I've compared the specs and apart from a 4ms quicker response time, the deciding factor is the DVI/Analogue part. The 930BF has a DVI and Analogue connection, but the 913N only has an analogue. Do I really need a DVI option for £50 extra ? To make use of it will I have to buy a DVI graphics card ? I've read this click here but am still confused !

On lower end monitors you won't really notice the difference; I saved my money and bought a 19inch analogue rather than 17inch DVI.

I only use it for general office work and the occasional DVD; my advice is analogue unless your graphics card has a built in DVI output.

I have both and can not really see the difference. Samsung SyncMaster moniters are very good

I've been told the difference is slight and that most people will see no difference so personally I'd save the £50. Have a read of this click here

I brought a SHARP with both DV & analogue inputs and I think (although it's subjective) the DV is better.

I use it for playing on lines games - 'work' mainly excel sheets and have had no probs.

I swapped it back to Analogue before replying and maybe it is just what I am used but prefer DVI - text seems better but I have hard evidence to back that up.

Is it worth the extra £50 ..... nah - even on analogue it's loads better that a CRT.

I went down the same road and having compared analogue with DVI in the shop saved my money.

Well, what's the decision going to be? ;-)

17" at £139 or 19" at £199. 8m/s response and DVI out. Frankly, I can't tell the difference between DVI and analogue, though if you're a graphic artist it may be important.

But I have the Aldi 19" and it's superb!
