Talk Talk new email website?

  spuds 17:02 08 Oct 2010

This will only concern people who subscribe to Talk Talk and its immediate internet companies like Tiscali etc.

Since the changeover in design and format these past couple of days, I have had nothing but problems regarding downloading, deletions and general annoyance. I am at present taking this up with Talk Talk, and I know that I could use their forum, but I would like a possible response from PCA forum members. Is anyone else having similar problems, who are using Talk Talk and their new email service.

Another point, is the now discontinuation of the 'print' facility for emails. To get a copy of an email, I seem to only obtain one by printing the complete web-page, so wasting time, material, and making the print-out unacceptable.

My normal e Mail via Pipex seems OK. Do you mean - re printing - when you print from the server or after downloading? No change seen on the latter.

Since they revamped their web page I can no longer access the "Broadband Usage" feature which was a definite help with controlling your download usage.

You need to log in to your account for the broadband useage facility. However, at the moment there is a problem, as follows. TC.

"The Broadband Usage function is temporarily unavailable. Our engineers are working on it and hope to have normal service resumed as soon as possible. Please try again later."

Obviously I DO log into my account, but that message wasn't up yesterday! It just was no longer on the site!

Previously there was a print button on the email page, and when pressed another box opened with the email message, then you were able to print out as to what was seen on screen. Now it would appear that the print button is missing, so you now need to use the drop-down on file section, so as to complete a print-out. This method prints the whole page including 'outside' the message, which make a mess of things.

I am still waiting for a response from Talk Talk, but it would appear that other people are having problems with the new styled email service on Talk Talk/Tiscali. Perhaps teething problems or ill thought-out new web-page?.

Although pipex is my ISP and I sometimes look at e mail on their server if I am away from home, my e msil actually is provided by Outlook 2007 so I guess we are talking different platforms, as Outlook is the same as always. Do you have Talk Talk as e Mail?

Tiscali/Talk Talk email, correct.

I had problems with Outlook, and Tiscali became involved, hence using their system. I also used Incredimail at once upon a time.

Had a response from Talk Talk overseas support contact. It would appear that the change-over is taking place from 2nd October to 13th October 2010, 'with far better service improvements', but I will need to wait till after the completion time, and see if things settle down?.

In the meantime, it is grin and wait.

Would mention that I receive anything between 200 and 300 viagra type messages a day, and I have constantly reported spam this to Tiscali/Talk Talk, and nothing was done about it. Since the new format, I (fingers crossed) have received none. What a relief!.

Ticked as resolved.

. . . and if you double click the message then select Action, Print Message, it the email opens in a new window and a print dialogue appears.

(Action, Print Message is not available until you have double clicked the email)

Thanks for that, I will look at it tomorrow. The Talk Talk adviser didn't mention that, but supplied a number of 'copy' solutions that were completely off subject matter.

Would mention that I have now found another way of printing, and that is by clicking on the web-page, then print in drop-down box. Still not a satisfactory way, due to print-out display.

So as stated, I will try your method tomorrow.
