Stuttering DVD playback

I realise that this is not strictly a PC question, but this forum is the most knowledgable I know on most tech matters.

Less than 12 months ago I purchased a DVD player. It has developed the tendancy to stutter during playback. This applies to a variety of discs, brand new or used. My immediate thought is that this a fault and I should return it. Any thoughts here on solutions that I should have tried, or should I simply go back to the retailer?

Back to retailer. The quicker the better. The moment you're outside that 12 month limit you will have to prove that problem was present before the 12 months were up.

Almost impossible!

It is the retailers responsibility to sort the problem. Do not let them fob you off with the tale that you should contact the manufacturer.

They have responsibilities before the manufacturer.

Yeap, I agree, you should go back to retailer and ask them to sort things out as quickly as possible.

Thank you for these comments. There has been no suggestion that I am being unreasonable and I shall take it up with the retailer on Monday.

Once again, thank you.
