Im looking to buy a new laptop for starting university this year. Being a bit of a begginer im not sure realy where to start!! I want a laptop that can deal with all my processing needs for university but one that can also play games like Med II Total War. I know this is quite a big ask being on a tight budget max £500-600. Any help would be greatfully appreciated. Thanks

med 11 total war needs a decent spec or you will be watching a slide show during large battles and castle seiges.
have a look at click here for info on laptops, there is a f.a.q and a benchmark list.

For the best value consider the following, all configured with a 8600M GT graphics card & 2Gb RAM (don't go for anything less on either wherever you buy from). You may need to manually select the 8600M GT & 2Gb RAM in some of the systems below.

Add the better TrueLife Screen for ~£15-20 extra.
