How do i get rid of startup screen in Windows M.E. My son has saved apicture and it now loads at bootup

The startup screen in ME is embedded in the file io.sys. However, a screen of your choice will override this if it's placed in the root directory of the boot drive[usually C:\].

So look in your C:\ drive for a file called logo.sys - this will be the offending startup screen. Move it elsewhere[if you want to keep it] out of that directory, or rename or simply delete it, and your original screen will be restored.

Just realised the first sentence is a bit ambiguous. Should read - The original startup screen in ME is embedded in the file io.sys.
