i have been reading about speedguide.net and generic registry patch,s etc.they are supposed to make cable modems faster.but is this at a cost?they seem too good to be true, has anyone had any problems etc from them

Ther eis little you can do to increase the speed of any modem and any gains are unlikely to be noticed. Keeping all temp and cookie files empty is a good idea.

Save your money.
