i am about to order a new pc from Evesham and want to sell my existing pc with xp operating system to a relative. Can anyone please advise me on the legalities of this. Also can the new owner register xp with Microsoft and obtain the same updates etc.
Just to mention the reason i am going to buy from Evesham is because of the excellent service i have received from them in the past.

PC and its components are one happy family.

The user could be anyone...

If you can reinstall the os and change the registered user, it's like they had it all for them in the beginning. You can change the registred user but you dont get the benfits of a fresh install.

I wouldnt worry. Even with XP..

As above, do a System Recovery, this will remove all your files and programs and it will become like new.
