Samsung Notebook

Looking to get an ultra-portable (not a netbook) and have seen a 12.1" Samsung I rather fancy.

I've had both good and bad experiences with Samsung consumer goods.

Any experiences, good or bad, of their laptops?

so I can't give you a personal view. That said, I'm not aware of hearing any horror stories either.

I'm sure someone will soon come along with an opinion based on personal experience.

I have used a Samsung R60 laptop for most of 2008 to date and am very happy with it.

I myself do not own a Samsung, but a good friend seems to have become "obsessed" with an R510, he purchased around three months ago, and gives it nothing but praise.

I have had a few Samsung products, i.e. TV, optical drives, ram and on one occasion a hard drive. The latter drive, was exchanged twice within a couple of weeks, (both were faulty on receipt)

Have not had any problems with any of my other purchases.

Thanks for the responses.

I'll leave the thread open a bit longer.

Joe R - Your experiences with Samsung would seem to echo mine - good products, but some of their range is below par.
