Samsung Laptop users

Samsung laptop owners are advised to probe their laptops for any hidden keyloggers. CNET has posted a detailed tutorial on how to detect and remove the StarLogger keylogger.

Network World has reported that Samsung has been installing keyloggers in their laptops to monitor the performance of the machine and gather usage data without user consent.

From the PCA link supplied by 'beavis'...

"But Samsung and the security company F-Secure did further research and found that the VIPRE antivirus software mistakenly associated a Windows root directory folder called "SL" with StarLogger."

So it would seem that VIPRE needs a makeover. As there could be many files that could be mistaken for something else! I believe it's called something like a 'False Positive'.

However I didn't see any mention of the actual contents of the so called 'SL' file?

The file in question, C:\Windows\SL, is for the Slovak language version of the 'Microsoft Live' suite - click here
