Could any one suggest me the way to record the sound/vocals from an external audio player to PC? What kind of cables and software program do I need?

To record from external audio player, connect the audio player, amplified turntable output audio device to the computer's Line In socket using a stereo audio cable and for recording sound/vocals, I go for FlexiMusic Wave Editor.

"external Audio player" need better desciption
A turntable will need preamplification.
An audio system or tape or DVD player will connect via the earphone socket to line in with a double jack 3mm stereo lead.
Software 'Audacity' free download
"NCH Suite" Wave Pad- free trial and then purchase
