Problem using fax on broadband

Have a Dell computer which uses BVRP software on the internal modem ( BCM V.92 56K) for faxing docs. Have recently managed to get broadband via BT with a Thomson 330 modem but now cannot receive or send faxes. Have I set it up wrong? Someone told me that there is a problem with faxing on broadband. Any advice would be appreciated.

Have you put a filter on your fax plug?

You can't send fax with BB

Fax via a 56k modem should be okay [anulogue], but 10X BB is not. Seeing that you are using a Thomson 330, I think this is a ADSL line modem, which would not be suitable for fax.

You cannot use Broadband to send a normal Fax. You have to use a normal 56k dial-up modem. This should be connected to the telephone line, via a micro filter.

There should be no problem in sending a Fax using the dial-up modem, even if you are still have your Broadband connection open. I do this all the time.
