The motherboard of my 6 year old PC, previously bought from Cougar Extreme, began to malfunction so I decided it was time for a new PC. Using Cougars self select system I put together a system and ordered it with the normal 8 - 9 day shipping time. The PC was completed a couple of days early and duly shipped to me. When it arrived, although well packaged by Cougar, the couriers had managed to break the front of the case. I immediately rang Cougar who apologised, even though not their fault and they arranged for the courier to collect it later the same day. Three days later the repaired PC arrived and the same thing had happened this time with much more damage to the case and a large dent and tear in the strong cardboard box. Back to Cougar on the phone to report the problem. This time Mario, the boss, came on the line and again apologised and then told me he was scrapping that PC and would build a new one for me, with an upgraded case free of charge and would have it shipped a.s.a.p. The phone call took place Wednesday around 11.30 am and my 'new' PC arrived safely at 11.00am Friday morning.
Suppliers are liable for any damage to a computer up to the point of delivery, even though the damage may be caused by a courier.
Your supplier went the extra mile by responding so rapidly, thereby keeping a happy customer, I wish more suppliers would take the same sensible approach to customer service. Thank you for telling us about your experience - it's always good to hear stories like yours.
