Power inverter for Desktop PCs

Can someebody pls. advise the ideal inverter for a Desktop PC ?

And, how long does the inverter run a PC in the event of a blackout ?

an inverter will not run a pc in the event of a power cut. think that what you are looking for is ups i.e.
uninterruptable power supply which is a combination of battery and inverter and depending on price will power the pc

You will also need to run the screen, if you have a 19" CRT this will take more power than a small LCD screen. More power equals less minutes. You may also want to have some other things on the UPS - a small light so you can see what you are doing, the modem or router all these things will take extra power.
