Hi,
I'm looking for a PC that enables me to have a fast computer thats the most important thing. A PC that opens applications quickly and the ability to open large programmes without running out of memory.
Please advise me on which PC is the best for my needs.
If something is missing that I should have please lmk.
Also if there is a specific windows operating system I should have I would also like to know.

Many many thanks!

No mention of budget, but if it was my money PC2, lots of drive space, loads of memory.

Only issue i have is the size of the PSU 380 watts is a bit skinny by todays standards a 500+ unit i think would suite your needs better...

  OTT_Buzzard 20:03 21 Apr 2009

imo, the AMD X3 processors aren't up to much although out of the PC choices you've listed PC1 will provide the better 'all rounder'

Intel E2200 and E4600 are now considered very low end processors.

What will you use the PC for? e.g. data processing (spreadsheets etc), word processing, photo / video editing, watching films, ripping software......

And as Mat Alan said, budget is everything. If you can post back some details someone may be able to find a deal!

  MAT ALAN 21:20 21 Apr 2009

The intels are at the low price end of the market but for multi tasking, more than adequate.
for gaming the AMD would have the edge ya get a bit more grunt for ya money...

as OTT_Buzzard has mentioned as well it will much depend on your budget and what exactly you want your PC to do...

Thanks for the replies I really appreciate my budget is low only £350 so if anyone knows of a good deal please lmk.

thanks.

click here - they do a pretty reasonable range, but mostly with integrated graphics in the non-gaming PC's. This will chew in to your RAM availability, but you can still upgrade at a later date if you think you're short on power. Don't underestimate the Intel GMA G3100 chipset, it really does do a good job!

As for operating system, there's little point in going for anything other than Vista Home Premium as a minimum at the moment. That said, if you are comfortble with XP then and you have any doubts over Vista then carry on using it.

Maybe another to look at.

This one sounds good to me what do you think? I really want a quick pc with the ability to open a few programmes at the same time.

Is this one better than the others I've listed?

caggybutton,

yes this system is better than the other ones you have listed, but, once you add an operating system, it is going to be around the £500 mark.

It is obvious you are not interested in having a high end graphics card, so hoe about this one, which greatly exceeds anything above, and comes with a 19" monitor, keyboard and mouse.
