PCWorld - Price promise reminder.

  belfman 11:05 15 May 2008

Did you know that PCWorld will beat the cheapest price of anything they sell (except TVs) from these sellers?

Amazon.co.uk, Argos, Asda, B&Q, Comet, Dabs, Dell, Evesham Technology*, Game, Gamestation, Halfords, HMV, Jessops, John Lewis, Maplin, Misco*, Play, Staples, Tesco, Toys r Us, Virgin, Woolworths

They will match and then further reduce by 10% of the difference, but you need to remind them of that.

I bought The Simpsons for the 360 yesterday, usual price anywhere is £39.99 but I noticed Amazon had it at £22.96.

Went in and asked for the price match, "ok sir that's £22.96" I answered no it isn't, what about the 10%? "that's now £21.26 please"

Just heading out now to get Virtua Fighter 5, PCWorld £24.98, HMV price £15.99. :D

I've had memory cards, memory pens, bluetooth accessories and lots of others reduced on their price match recently. I think they hate to see me coming in lol.

£1 here and there soon adds up - and there's no postage/waiting.

Got VF5 for £15.08 and an additional 360 controller for £25.26.

This gaming lark is expensive :(

I've saved about £65 on PCW prices in a month by asking for price matching. As well as saving lots of hours from not having to wait for goods to arrive in the mail, or not.

Memory pens £14.99 play sell for £9.99, I got two for £9.49 each. Saving £11

Simpsons game £39.99 Amazon sell for £22.96, I got for £21.26. Saving £18.73

Virtua Fighter 5 £24.98 HMV sell for £15.99, I got for £15.08. Saving £9.91

360 Controller £32.99 Amazon £25.96, I got it for £25.26. Saving £7.73

2GB Micro SD card £14.99 play sell for £6.99, I got them for £6.19 each. Saving £17.60

Saving against the cheapest suppliers totals about £6.00 exc. postage, so one could argue PCW might still be making a fair bit of profit out of sales they wouldn't normally get, from me.

You've got me at it now! I asked PCW to price match Amazon on a printer and saved £20 plus another 10% on the in-store price.

The only problem then was that the printer, a Canon Pixma 4500, wouldn't fit on my workstation, so I had to go back to the store and buy some furniture. They wanted £50 for this, but I asked them to match their own internet price and saved another £20.
