Wherever I have tried, suprisingly they are out of stock. Now somebody else try to see if they can get any.

Not in Northern Ireland (where I'm from) or North England, Stockton (where the other half is from).

All stores are out, not really surprising is it.

As you have stated, just done a 35 mile radius store check from my hometown, and all stores have no stock!.

Was in the local PCW yesterday, and their prices for blank cd's were not that low. But I did pick up a clearance software translation package, down from £39.99 to £19.99, with final clearance price of 97pence, which of course I purchased.

Could be a pricing error?

My local branch of Currys-online offers a spindle pack of 100 Imation 52x CD-Rs (rebadged Taiyo Yuden media) for £9.97, which is cheaper than buying them online from any retailer if delivery is added.

I've used these Imation disks for several years (originally from Morrisons at three packs of 10 disks in cases for £10) and never had a coaster (Taiyo Yuden is regarded as probably the best media manufacturer in the world).

Anything with the price ending in a 7 in PCW is a clearance item. The price has been dropped by the company to clear old stock.

Some of these prices (as in the CD-R example) are crazy low, depending on how much stock to clear.

In the past i have bought a Toshiba M30 1.8 centrino laptop for £99.97, various packs of paper for as little a 0.07p, and console cames for 0.97p

Look out for the lucky number 7's!!

Staff first, staff should be banned from buying clearance items.

Just got back from my local PC World. Plenty of these on the shelf there at 19.99 for 100. Questioned member of staff and was told I can't have any at the clearence price even though it was the same code as the cheap ones. Oh well off to order a load from SVP.

Give the customers a chance of course. Hardly think it's fair that the customers get 'stiffed' and don't even get a look in at the good bargain clearances. Maybe that's why when I look at our PCW clearance it's mainly junk as the manager has got his pickings first!

In fact several companies I know of won't allow staff/management to buy reduced items.

There are some printer bargains on the website's printers clearance section.
