PC Specialist??

  Coggsey 10:03 26 May 2006

As well as good after sales and customer services, as noted from earlier letter. What is the quality of PC Specialist's products? Especially their monitors. By reading their promotional info, they use components that are cheaper at that time. I have punched in my requirements on a couple of sites, including Dell, and PCS appear to be the cheapest. Are they the best though????? Any experience? I have just signed up to Which? online. Went to 'purchasing PC' page and what an interesting read. A certain high street retailer told a customer that the anti-virus package was to restrict her young child accessing unsuitable web sites. It also noted that indepentant suppliers came out best. I think PCS would qualify here.

I brought a PC from them back in March and its great. I got a 19" TFT with it and although I hadn't heard of the make of the monitor it has a very crisp picture and a good response time. The other components are top quality and so far no problems.

I would recommend them highly, even though I was slightly annoyed at the delay in my delivery (3 weeks instead of 2). I looked around for ages at the time and PCS always came out best in terms of price for quality. Don't get me wrong, companies like Alienware will have better quality components but you'll be looking to pay twice as much, which isn't worth it as PCS components are very good anyway.

Check out the testimonials on there website for more info.

On my system (see earlier post) probably the most expensive single component was the graphics card. The one supplied is the same one as click here and even came with quake 4 and serious sam 2 as well as the driver disk and printed manual. Wheich leads me to conclude it was the retail rather than the OEM version. I can't tell you the brand of the memory but the system is still performing very well. As fot the monitor I didn't like the thought of not knowing what I was ording so I simply left off the option and ordered the one I wanted separately from savastore.
The only negative is the case looks a bit crap, but then again it is tucked under the desk. Would I buy from them again? Definately!

which I've had for about 6 months and the after sales service is great - see click here. I kept the monitor I already had so can't comment on monitors.

Very pleased with PC Specialist.

Just about throwing everything digital editing and internet at it - no problems with this PC, nor their after service for questions from this non-techical person.

Would buy from them again with no hesitation.

As I used these forums to determine which online supplier to use, I thought I should add a note on my experience with PC Specialist to help other consumers.
I purchased a high spec gaming machine from them just over a month ago and the experience was thoroughly good. Delivery was speedy, the team easy to contact, regular build updates via the website and even a free upgrade to next day delivery.

The machine was packaged well with all discs and so far the machine is running perfectly. Price was great too.

I've just ordered a pc from these guys, its been dispatched yesterday and should be here today, its been 10 days since I ordered so it seems pretty quick.

Here is another thread about them with a few happy customers and some info click here

Also if you ask them over the phone what the components are they'll tell you and give you model numbers to check.

I've had my computer for about two weeks and it's great, I had their monitor and although I never heard of the make it is very sharp picture and great for games.

Anytime I had a question and emailed them they were very quick and helpfull with their answers.

So far I'm really pleased and would recommend them to anyone.

Well my PC arrived today as I was told but it didnt come with the speakers, which appear to be coming to me within the next few days. I wasnt told this until this morning about 2 hours before my pc arrived. And its not totaly clear either, I just got an email at 8am saying my order was ready to dispatch, which confused me because I was expecting my pc already. I can only assume its my speakers until I talk to them tomorrow about it. I think they could have been a little more informative as it left me in the dark realy.

However on setting up the PC its running very well, very quiet, havent had chance to run any games on it yet but will do on saturday.

Well packaged and good looking case with an info sheet. Not realy alot of information about the PC as a whole but I guess thats what you get when you order your own custom build.

I got all the discs for the hardware's etc.

So apart from the speakers it all seems fine. Could be just an honest mistake or hitch.
