PC Base Unit

  jimmybond 12:55 01 Feb 2005

I'm thinking of buying a new PC - as I already have a decent TFT panel, speakers, keyboard etc, I'm just after the base unit and nothing else.
Having been impressed by Mesh PC spec's in the past, I was going to buy from here - however, using their 'configurator', by the time you have the PC at the spec you want, it seems to be about £200 more than a similar specced PC in an'everything included' package!!
Is there somewhere that specialises in base units alone, or when can I get one at a decent value?
Cheers for your help.

Or you could visit their auction site to see if there is anything you want there click here

On both the 'norm' is for the machines to be just base units.

phone them and ask to order one of their packages without monitor etc and see what price they give you

May be worth having a look at building one mate, I transfered over to building them about 5 years ago and for just a base unit you can save a fortune have a look @ click here and see how much money you can save and learn alot in the process.

I've bought two base units from here and had no complaints.

I had the same dilemma as yourself. After much research I configured and bought a Mesh Base Unit about a month ago.

I went this route because you do get a 3 year warranty, rather than building one yourself. It might cost more, but worth it in the long run for peace of mind.

I am very impressed with the appearance of the Mesh Unit, and it worked fine straight out of the box!

thanks for the info guys, plenty to look at - still undecided as to whether to build my own or buy a unit. By budget of £1200 doesn't get me as far as I thought it would with some 'base unit only' configurators!

The Base Unit I configured with Mesh cost £789 including 1st year on-site warranty.

The spec' was excellent and well under your target of £1,200.

If you would like further details then you are welcome to email me.

I could build you an AMF FX55 set-up for £1200 !!

Build it your self you could make a monster.
