I recieved an email claiming to be from Paypal - I've checked with Paypal and they confirm that this is an attempt at fraud - It was quite cleverly laid out in HTML and did look genuine - beware"Dear PayPal valued member,PayPal is committed to maintaining a safe environment for its community of buyers and sellers. To protect the security of your account, PayPal employs some of the most advanced security systems in the world and our anti-fraud teams regularly screen the PayPal system for unusual activity.Recently, our Account Review Team identified some unusual activity in your account. In accordance with PayPal's User Agreement and to ensure that your account has not been compromised, access to your account was limited. To restore your account please click on the link bellow:If you fail to restore your account access by the date shown below, your account will be closed. This notification expires on the 10th of March, 2005."
loads must fall for it, or else they would not carry on.....as you say, the sites look the same as the real thing................
Paypal does not send emails requesting account information, do the right thing, do not open or reply to it just delete.
I had one of these as well and as I havent used Paypal for a long time deleted my card off my account as I don't need to use it. I also deleted the e mail
have been getting this message over the past few months, and I'm sure that lots of them are taken in by it.
