orange - snail mail

I bought an Orange air card for our laptop on a
payg account. but don't have a orange mobile.
having a few problems I found it very expensive to communicate via landline, about my first billing account, so I wrote via snail mail.
After about two weeks I had had no response from the Customer Service Dept. so I telephoned (landline), and was told that it could take six weeks before I got an acknowledgement for my original letter, six weeks!
Has anyone else had a problem like this?

have emailed them twice on a different matter, and each time took 5 days to recieve reply
