Anyone going for the upgrade?

If you have upgraded please provide some feedback as to your actual increase of speed compared to up to 8Mbps connection.

Don't know about 20 meg, but I have just left Orange because having promised me 8 meg it never once even reached 1 meg over the whole of my 12 month contract period

If the upgrade is going to cost more then don't bother

Try that link and it should give you a rough idea of max speed you can obtain and distance from exchange.

What speed are you getting now?

At present I am on between 6.0 and 6.5 Mbps. Sometimes nearly 7.0 Mbps.

Thanks for your reply and link. Here are the calculations:

Estimation of your maximum rate adaptive adsl speed

Downstream Attenuation 37.0dB
Approx Line Length 2.7km

dslMAX 7328 kbps IP Profile 6000 kbps

adsl2+ (21CN) 10656 kbps IP Profile 9000 kbps

adsl2+ (LLU) 10656 kbps Throughput 9431 kbps

Seems a bit of a risk as I would go for the Home Select, pay another £2 pm, lose my LiveBox second line and no guarantee of an extra speed of 3 Mbps.

Probably an increase of 2 Meg if lucky? Do you agree?

Orange promised me an upgrade to 4mbps-all I got was hours of hassle, misinformation and 0.4mps on an exceptional day.

Would not trust Orange as far as I can throw the equipment, so glad I dumped them.
