for those of you who aren't aware click here give delivery to our beautiful land for the meagre cost of normal cost in the rest of the uk and not an added premium. take the rest i know where i spent £400 this week on that basis alone! who wants £15+ as well as vat added on to the bill?

  Pooke 23:04 07 Aug 2005

thanks I'll bare them in mind the next time I'm looking to buy....

hi am i reading it wrong or is it almost twice as expensive to deliver to belfast, whats to shout about then?

  harps1h 23:26 08 Aug 2005

what to shout about is that i'm sure that i live no further from london by air than say glasgow or edinburgh. they don't get charged 15 + vat!!!

heathrow to belfast 324

heathrow to glasgow 343

why would it be more expensive?

  harps1h 23:29 08 Aug 2005

by the way that is £15 + vat on top of their normal carriage plus vat

If the Mail companies could deliver in NI at the same price as Mainland Britain, as opposed to the Highlands and Islands, I am sure that they would.

Why there is a Premium, I have no idea, but I don't think that there is a Cartel operating to the detriment of the consumer.

i was not for one minute suggesting that. however having sent parcels to england via 24hr delivery at £3.75 to £5.00, i fail to see why the companies cannot do the same. take for example a something that will fit into an envelope like braiding. a company i will not name wanted to charge the £15+ that i could post for £3.75.
