Norton IS 2007 install on 2nd computer

  beebender 13:26 04 Feb 2007

My daughter recently installed NIS 2007 on her laptop and my own computer has NIS 2006 which is due for renewal shortly.

Is it possible to install NIS 2007 on my computer and use the same codes, if so, how do I go about it?

Obviously this will save us both money.

Norton Internet Security can be legally installed on 3 different computers. That should be fine. I had this clarified by a Symantec representative via live chat. Just uninstall the 2006 version on your computer, install 2007 via your daughters cd and enter the product key on the yellow label attached to the sleeve.

Many thanks Jimmy14 - my daughter installed NIS 2007 via download but she has the activation keys.

Will proceed using keys - how on EARTH did you manage to get Symantec via live chat we tried for hours and got nothing.

Every time I have used live chat I am about 50 odd in the queue, I just leave the tab open and come back to it. It does take a while though.

Worth pointing out that all copies of that version of NIS2007 are registered to the first account, so they'll all expire at the same time.

I got the online upgrade to NIS2007 from 2006, installed 2006 on my brother's machine and upgraded that too. We've both got 92 days remaining on 2007 at this time having bought 2006 in May(ish).

My other brother has a shop-bought 2007 and installed it at his business too - both have 300+ days outstanding.

It's a good deal - it's effectively a 67% price reduction for a more effective product.

Bought NIS 2007 for £25 from PC WORLD and can install it on 3 machines, what more can you ask for?

Now you tell me!!! We paid £54-00 but at least I have now got NIS 2007 on my computer.

I have all the features from my daughter's version but I cannot get go back or system restore - any ideas?

The £25 offer from PC World is over. You can get it for £30 if you either buy a laptop or Vista Home Premium though...

...No, I wouldn't either...
