No software with mouse

I've just taken delivery of a new mouse

The supplier was Epcbuyer. It was not boxed, just loose in a plastic bag, with no protective packaging apart from the Jiffy bag. And no software CD. In the System requirements it states a CD-ROM is needed.

I've downloaded the drivers from Microsoft and it works fine. But I shouldn't have had to, should I?

How much was it from your supplier? was it classed as OEM?

It's no big deal to download drivers instead of cd. I prefer it as it'll be newer drivers than what's on the disk.

I ordered it from Amazon. No mention of it being OEM.

It's probably oem but none the worse for that. I agree it should have been clear the disk was not included

What fascinates me though is the fact that yours has TILT

Mine don't

Do I need this, I ask myself?

Download the driver from the Micrsoft website at:

The basic Intellimouse drivers are already included on XP.

Thanks, that's where I got the driver from.

You're right, the mouse works with XP drivers, but only as a two button mouse. I could configure the other buttons, but they didn't work.
