My new Tiny home 64-3000PQ connected to internet a virus shut me out, details on screen as follows:- lsass.exe - Application error initiated by NT Authority Ox00900090 - memory could not be read - status code 1073741819.Downloaded AVG, Spybot, Ad-aware, a2 to no avail-my ISP told me to download Microsoft SP 2 - I managed by constantly watching for the egg timer to appear and being ready to 'zapp' out the window - which had*[email protected]:porn in the address bar.
To my dismay SP 2 prevents access to the Internet completely - my ISP tells me this is a common problem and only Microsoft technical people can help me reconfigure.Registry shows lsa ss.exe is this sasser and safe to delete?

Did you remember to turn off system restore before runing the stinger tool.

I gave up trying to solve all the issues and did a reload - this time I ensured that anti-virus software was installed before going online. i do feel that some very basic advice on how to avoid this happening should be issued with any new computer - we're not all 'wizz kids'!

I think its fair to assume that it is common sense to install anti-virus and firewall software before you connect to the internet.

And im sure there is some mention in the manuals with most PC's about basic housekeeping functions.

Maybe, but there has been a patch for Sasser available from Microsoft for ages now which would have prevented this - Tiny should be shot for not having installed this on a new PC.
