New laptop buyer

I want to buy a laptop for my daughter but have no idea where to start! I don't really want to spend more than £450; she travels abroad regularly and would primarily use it for e-mailing, surfing and possibly watching dvds, (I think!) There is an offer of a fujitsu siemens V5535 for £329 at present - is this a good buy? Or could anyone suggest a suitable, reliable machine? Many thanks for any advice.

with her laptop she'll appreciate one that doesn't weigh a ton.

I think it would fit the bill nicely, and it's within your budget.
