Netbook OK for Movies?

I am thinking of buying a second hand Netbook with Windows XP just for watching films from a usb hard drive. Are netbooks capable of this and do I need to look for a certain size of processor?
I have been looking at the Samsung N10.

From experience I would not use a netbook to watch a film unless it was the only option going. The framerate on my Dell Mini 10 suffers when playing a movie back. Plus the screen is quite small and not really made with movies in mind.

I have had no problem viewing movies on my netbook.

Netbooks pretty much all use the same CPU.

I can play back movies on my Dell Mini 10 from my NAS over WiFi without too much trouble, so long as they're DVD res or less (704 x 576), it struggles down-sampling HD movies, so the film becomes jerky.

By the way I use VLC player, which plays back most film formats and uses minimal resources...

Thanks for the replies. The intended use is for air travel and holidays and I also use VLC player.
