Is Nero a freebie?

This site click here was recommended in another thread.

It is a huge program and I wondered even if it is free, whether it is worth installing so as to cope better with DVD matters?

I think it is a trial version I paid about £35 for my Nero7 premium

You can obtain Nero6 and 7 on a trial basis and, if you like it, pay Nero for the serial number to continue using it when the trial finishes.

Nero isn't a freebie - it may be a free trial though - with limited lifespan.

Personally I'm still using Nero 6 quite happily - so I can't comment on version7

You don't have to download all the Nero software - some of the multimedia etc features may not be of interest.

They are detailed on the Nero (Ahead) website.

As with DieSse I'm quite content with Nero6 Reloaded.

I found the DVD changes to v 6.*.*. puzzling enough for my shrinking mind.
At least I can cope (just about) with what I have

It's probably only a "free" download. You may have to pay to activate it.

I tried Nero 7 when it first came out but it had so many problems that I went back to Nero 6.

I am prepared to accept that Nero have sorted the problems now though. I have just downloaded Nero 7 from your link (4 minutes). Will give it a try and see what happens.

Nero can be purchased from: click here for £45.99. Which makes me think the downloaded version isn't free to use.

Just tried to install it and it is a "Demo".

It also needs to Uninstall all other Nero products before version 7 can be installed. I aborted the install.
