music downloading

I want to download music and perhaps films on broadband. I have had a bad experience with kazan which I have now removed. I need a safe site to download from. Any suggestions? I don't mind paying, but I don't want to hand my details to a dodgy site. I've come across mp3downloading but their website doesn't have the padlock logo for safe transactions.

You can do it via Windows Media Player 10. You just pay for what you download.

Looks like one of those con tricks where they spout legalese claiming they don't support copyright infringement and will then SELL you Bittorrent (which can be downloaded free). I personally wouldn't touch it!

while I'm at it, is there a good site for downloading films? By the way, whats bittorent?
