I have just been looking at the Creative MuVo 128mb (£80) and the Ministry of Sound 128mb (£100)
Which of these would discerning buyers purchase?
Perhaps another around this price?

I have this one click here

You have to be a memeber to purchase things from them, it cost £7.50 (I think) but you get a choice of free (?) gifts. They also have a few shops dotted around the country so you may be able to pop into one and pick one up and not have to worry about the Xmas post.

This may or may not help but I have the creative zen nx 30g and its a very good all round h/d mp3.Contrary to reports the software is very easy to use.

Admittedly speaking as someone who has never seen the point of such mobile music devices. but £100 seems an awful lot to pay for a device that holds less than I CD's worth of music.

leo

At an average size of 4MB a 128MB device will hold 32 songs

Well if you're satisfied with that quality, fine.I always use a much higher encoding rate. Even using your bitrat, £100 for 90-120 minutes of music doesn't make a lot of sense to me. But it's his money and different strokes....

And there again, I would be first in the queue to vote for any political party that advocated the public birching of anyone using Walkmans or mobile phones on Public Transport or in any shop or restaurant!

If you are listening through a pair of the normal headphones you get with a device of this type then cranking the bit rate up above 128 is pretty meaningless.

I can't agree more with your last paragraph

A friend of mine has the ministry of sound player. It sounds ok to me.

Using Walkmans or mobile phones in public places is fine as long as the person doesnt feel the need to have the volume up full or shout into the phone.
