Mobile phone: O2 contract query

  VNAM75 20:22 15 Aug 2006

I contacted O2 to terminate my contract when it expires this month and put me on pay and go and keep my existing number ie. I just buy top up cards for phone credit, but I got the response below:

1) I have requested your PAC (Porting Authorisation Code), required for
"transferring" your phone number to a new Service Provider, this will
be sent to you through the post.

Does this mean I will get transferred to another provider, like vodafone? I have found O2 to be very good generally and want to stay on their network. Is this still possible if I dont renew my contract?

You can port the number anywhere.

I recommend o2 online Pay and Go.

Do you know why are O2 transferring me to a new service provider? All I said was I didn't want to renew my contract and instead go on "their" pay and go (top up cards).

Online pay and go sounds good.

Maybe you need the PAC to move to PAYG.

Even though it's still o2, they are run separately, esp with o2online who used to be genie.

Phone them and clarify it.

As for o2 online PAYG it's great. For topping up with £10 a month I get loads in return for free.

300 messages or 100picture messages
20% off all calls on o2 treats
10%top ups back every 3 months
and recently free calls all weekend inc. mondays for 2 months, they sent me an email to tell me.
