Missing MSOE.DLL

When I try to open Outlook Express I get this box appear:-Outlook express could not be started because msoe.dll could not be loaded. Searching the web I have downloaded a free zipped supposed new msoe.dll, having unzipped,what do I do next please, or this there some other remedy?

Microsoft's Knowledge Base is not working at the moment on search. Have a look at:

If you have a later version then try:

Start>Run>type in sfc /scanrestore (note the space) and then OK.

You will most likely need your XP installation disk (if you use XP) available.

Thanks stuartli. However I seemed to have cured the problem by uninstalling and re-installing IE6

That would have been another suggestion..:-)

However, I've been using Firefox and Thunderbird for some time and don't have these sort of problems now...
