As the title states but are there 3 year on-site warrenties worth the money?

  sattman 12:17 15 Nov 2005

No, but depending on how much the cover costs, usually disproportionably expensive my feeling is that it is not good value for money.

My personal feeling is that electrical/electronic consumer items are likely to show up any problems in manufacture soon after purchase. After twelve months any failures are just back luck.

I would estimate that most computer problems are not hardware but system problems and not covered by the warranty

I think thast you will also find that the warranty as certain limitations regarding 'on-site', not just a case of phoning for a technician to arrive and solve a problem.

If it don't work out of the box send it back for refund

If it does work, and there is a faulty component, things will happen in the first 3/6 months. Otherwise it will probably work forever, or until you are up for buying a new one

So don't spend on 3 year on site. It's just not worth it
