Mesh RAM help???

  rickimalone 13:39 29 Mar 2004

I have just downloaded the PC Wizard 2004 tool from click here.
The tool is great and has given me loads of info about my new system.
My question is that when I look at my RAM, the PC Wizard say's that I have
2x 256MB DDR-SDRAM PC3200 (200 MHz)

This has confused me as I thought that PC3200 was run at a clock speed of 400MHz???
Please could someone help me on this one.
Many thanks.

The RAM is DDR which stands for Double Data Rate.

Basically the actual physical speed is 200mhz but because it performs up to double the amount of calculations per clock cycle, it can perform up to the equivilant speed of 400mhz.
