memory upgrade pc66-pc100 compatable

hello could any one tell me if a pc running at 66mhz will except 100mhz sdram memory up grade the pc has currantly got 64mb i know it will take 256mb max but the 66mhz memory is hard to get plus very dear to buy i read on the net that it will work but run at only 66mhz any info would be apprectiated mark

Yes will just default to 66mhz.

just one thing to note though - most 100mhz sticks will have a slightly different configuration to 66mhz ones - check whether your motherboard needs small capacity memory chips click here as ones that have 64Mb chips tend to have problems on older boards.

there are diffrent type of DDR memory available, but I don't have any idea which one is suitable for my computer

If you dont know the make and model of your motherboard download and instal Aida32 which will tell you,then post again.
