Medion at Woolies!

  GANDALF <|:-)> 14:49 19 Mar 2005

Woolies are pimpin' out a Medion computer which would be ideal for home use. 2.66 chip, DVD and CD writer, 15"TFT, keyboard, rodent, printer copier scanner, 256RAM, works 8.0, 6 USB ports and the rest of the yadda yadda........£499 to all and sundry. At this price it is a steal.

Posts that the computer has not got 64 bit chips, 22Gb of RAM or a Raedon MNNBHHJJJ 9000056 graphics card and cannot play Doom 10,000 are unnecessary. It is excellent for most gaming and home use.

I was in a Woolies this morning & noticed the posters saying 'Medion', but I can confirm that it is branded 'Time' on the box.

I did notice that it says that a recovery disk is included.

The ones that I saw were branded Medion but whatever, it is still a good buy.

It should be remembered that Medion is not a manufacturer - it finds suitable products from specialist manufacturers and then rebrands them under its own name for sale at participating retailers.

It's a similar method to that used by supermarkets such as Tesco, Morrisons etc who sell rebranded specialist manufacturers' products (whether it's soup, bread, biscuits etc) under their own name at a lower cost than the originals.

Medion's retailing philosophy is clearly detailed at:
